2nd Japan-China Symposium on Cancer Research

                                        May 9th-11th 2012, Chiba, Japan

On behalf of Prof. Akira Nakagawara,Prof.Hiroshi Tanaka,Prof. Huanming Yang, it is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the “2nd Japan-China Symposium on Cancer Research”, which will be held on May 9th-11th 2012 in Chiba, Japan.

The China-Japan Symposium on Cancer Research meeting was jointly organized by BGI (www.genomics.cn), Chiba Cancer Center and The Beijing Institute for Cancer Research. It has been successfully held at Shenzhen for the first time in 2011, which aimed to promote academic exchanges between Chinese and Japanese scientists who focus their researches on cancer, which had always been a heated field in biological study.

Now, here we would like to announce the 2nd Japan-China Symposium on Cancer Research, scheduled on May 9th-11th 2012 in Chiba, Japan. With the success of our last meeting held at Shenzhen, we expect that approximately 250 researchers from China and Japan will attend the 2nd Japan-China Symposium on Cancer Research, which is jointly organized by Chiba Cancer Center, Tokyo Medical and Dental University and BGI (www.genomics.cn).

As a world-class research institution, BGI has established its own technical platforms based on large-scale genome sequencing, efficient bioinformatics analysis, and innovative genetic health-care initiatives. The Chiba Cancer Center aims better cure rates of the patients with cancer by doing innovative translational research which links basic researches which include investigation on genetics, cytology and biochemistry in tumor, and with bedside treatments like radiation treatments, drug testing, surgery and sample collection/preservation. Tokyo Medical and Dental University is unique among medical and dental universities in Japan in that it has three divisions dedicated to graduate education and research: Medical and Dental Sciences, Health Care Sciences, and Biomedical Sciences.

It would be an opportunity to familiarize cancer researchers in China and Japan with each other’s contribution to scientific research as well as to facilitate international collaboration in cancer study between the two countries.

We are confident that your active participation will ensure the great success of this meeting, contributing to the advancement of human genetics and cancer research in the world.

Best wishes and looking forward to meeting you in Japan!
