Graduate Students

To integrate resources effectively, BGI Shenzhen has signed agreements of Joint Graduate Program with Beijing Institute of Genomics Academy of Sciences, University of Shenzhen, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the University of Copenhagen. hawse have enrolled more than 70 graduate students majored in Bioinformatics and Genomics.

These students are expected to acknowledge scientific theories and applications of Genomics and Bioinformatics, to develop their ability of innovative creation, and also to accomplish the projects independently. Students are also expected to exhibit proficient understanding on the basic skills of Molecular Genetics, and also Molecular-based Diagnostic Techniques such as genetic disease, HLA matching, HPV detection, gene analysis, and individual identification. Besides, they are supposed to be competent in fundamental research and engineering application of medical genomics.
 
Nowadays, most graduate students have been engaged in the diabetes research, intestinal tract microbial research, transcriptomics study, small RNA and other projects in BGI, with some of them published peer-viewed papers on SCI journals.
